Up-Down

Light Design

Up-Down are a group of lamps which change their light source with the reflection boards turned up and down. People adapt their light source to brighter or dimmer when changing between paper reading to screen working and they do this by turning, rotating, touching, pressing their light source. The behaviour that people turn their hat brim up and down to look around or to protect their eyes from blinding sunshine inspired this up-down light concept. The lamp consists of a big up-down reflection board, a light source and a foot that is made with two bent steel sticks and one straight steel tube in triangles, which provides stable support to the lamp without much weight.
