Hot Pot

Cooking food off the stove

Hot pot is a device designed for slow cooking meals off the stove and encouraging people to change their ways of cooking. Start by heating up your food on the stove and then place it in the hot pot to let it do the rest of the cooking until the food is tender! The insulating properties of the cork allows the food to keep on simmering after being removed from the stove and placed in the closed cork box.

Inspired by the German “Kochkiste” from the early 1900’s and adapted to modern households, it can be used in the cooking process to save electrical power as well as replacing the microwave by keeping food warm. The size and round shape of the hot pot invites the user to place it on the dinner table and serve directly from it.
