This project has been an exploration if a complicated product can be simplified. We are surrounded of products every day, in every situation. Many of them are overloaded with function and visual expression to create an overdose on emotion and frustration. I carried out the process of exploration on a desk table lamp. A lightning product is quiet challenging as it´s consists of form and function, but also of technology. Well, how can I reduce the complexity of a product? A complex product is nothing more than the sum of its parts and can be understood by defining its individual components separately. Through the initial separation of all single components and their evaluated function, a clear, clean and coherent product structure can be achieved. The result is desk table lamp, which consists of separated parts with a simple form language, which are interacting together with the help of magnets to form it to a complete product.
